  • It's Christmas!

Wednesday night was the premiere of my latest composition - "A Child's Carol"; a setting of a poem by Christina Rosetti about what children can give at Christmas time. It is the first piece I have written since I started touring in 2007 and hope it's the start of a more regular output after a break from the pressures of conservatoire life!

The piece was performed by children from four different schools in Sheffield, and a chamber choir from the University of Sheffield, and everyone did a wonderful job, thanks to the very lovely Anna Wright who put together the whole concert in benefit of Whirlow Hall Farm Trust. Over £2,000 was raised for this very worthy cause and I hope it will all happen again next year.

Meanwhile life carries on at "Scrooge". Last night was the Christmas party and Tommy Steele put on a great spread. Four weeks left, and then who knows?

    Merry Christmas, everyone!
